African Caribbean Institute of Jamaica/ Jamaica Memory Bank (ACIJ/JMB)

The ACIJ/JMB works to deepen the public’s awareness of the
contribution of African cultural retention to the Jamaican ethos.

Liberty Hall: The Legacy of Marcus Garvey

Liberty Hall, informs the public about the work of Jamaica’s first National Hero, Marcus Mosiah Garvey while using his philosophy to inspire positive self-identity.

Jamaica Music Museum (JaMM)

JaMM is the archive, research facility and exhibition space
for reggae and other Jamaican musical forms. JaMM is actively collecting artifacts for the national collection.

Natural History Museum of Jamaica(NHMJ)

The Natural History Museum’s mandate is to advance scientific research and education by collecting, storing and maintaining specimens of Jamaica’s plants and animals and educating Jamaicans on the importance of preserving the island’s natural history.

Programmes Coordination Division

The Programmes Coordination Division includes the Junior Centres and the Simón Bolívar Cultural Centre.  The Junior Centres provide facilities for young people ages 6-18 years to acquire knowledge and develop skills in various art forms so as to foster their intellectual, aesthetic, and cultural growth.

The National Gallery Of Jamaica(NGJ)

The National Gallery has the definitive collection of the nation’s art, including Jamaica’s greatest artistic endeavors from Taino Indian artifacts, to Spanish and English Colonial art to the very latest contemporary works by Jamaican artists.

National Museum of Jamaica(NMJ)

NMJ is the national agent for the collection, preservation, and documentation of Jamaica’s material culture and aims to stimulate serious research on Jamaica’s history and contemporary life.

The People's Museum of Craft and Technology

The People’s Museum of Craft and Technology showcases the creative industry of emancipated Jamaicans, as they fashioned a new life for themselves in villages across Jamaica despite unbearable odds. Originally created in 1961 as the Folk Museum on the grounds of the Old King’s House, the museum was renamed the People’s Museum of Craft and Technology in 1979.

Simon Bolivar Cultural Centre(SBCC)

SBCC was donated by the Venezuelan government
and was established to strengthen cross-cultural links between the Caribbean and Latin America.
