ACIJ/JMB Art and Craft In Africa Display

The ACIJ/JMB display entitled, Art and Craft in Africa highlights various forms of artistic expressions throughout different regions in Africa. It demonstrates elements of African self-concept, African spirituality, the relationship between man and his environment, and the creative use of the environment for daily survival. The artefacts on display include captivating masks, alluring drums, exotic jewellery, pottery and basketry made from a wide range of materials such as wood, bones, shells, metal, skin, leaves and other natural fibres. Art and Craft in Africa provides the viewer with the opportunity to view through African lenses, African perceptions of the world and their place in it. This display closes on Monday November 30, 2009 and all are invited to share in this exposé of African art and craft.
